Supporting Community
A big part of why I started Tidal Health NW was the belief that access to care should be practical, compassionate, and rooted in community. Long before working in psychiatry, I spent years involved in outreach work across Portland and internationally—including street medicine, harm reduction education, direct support for individuals experiencing houselessness, and two medical missions to Al Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan serving displaced Syrian refugees.
That work continues to shape how I practice today.
I believe mental health care should be accessible, trauma-informed, and grounded in real life. That means accepting Medicaid plans whenever possible, offering sliding-scale options when appropriate, and supporting organizations doing meaningful work outside of traditional healthcare systems.
Want to Get Involved?
Community care works best when it is shared.
I always accept donations at the office. I distribute these items directly to individuals in the community who need them most through local outreach groups.
Small, practical donations often make the biggest difference.
If you would like to contribute, office drop-offs can be arranged through the Contact page.
Helpful items often needed include:
Warm layers and rain gear
Socks, gloves, hats
Hygiene kits (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, menstrual products)
Tents, tarps, sleeping bags (in good condition)
Pet food and basic pet supplies
Thank you for helping support care beyond the clinic.
